Product Description
You spoke and we listened. Our most discerning customers asked why we did not offer our high end EDC sets with leather cases? We took your advice and now present the GSP Governor PS - Leather case
The well experienced lock picking enthusiast who suggested the contents for the basic, yet comprehensive basic pick set known as “The Mayor” is at it again. Please note that The Mayor is tied for second place of our best selling pick sets! His team did great!
With the help of his team members he has now designed “The Governor”, which is his next step up and is designed for more experienced lock pickers who want to succeed at more challenging locks.
The set contents indicates his belief in having a wide array of tension tools (I agree with him, we need a choice based on the many locks out there), plus a selection of GSP picks in .025, .018 and .015: all hooks.
I like his choice's as I tend to use hook picks as well! His adding optional ultra-thin .018 and .015 to his favorite 0.25 GSP hook picks allows him to choose the thickest (therefore strongest) pick that operate freely in his targeted key-way. Is he scientific in his approach or what?
His selected picks and tension tools all fit nicely in our 3.75 inch wide leather case.
If you purchased his selected items individually the retail would be $153.00. But as it is cheaper for us to build a group of pick sets all at one time compared to filling an order of individual items residing in drawer after drawer, we pass that savings on to you! Plus it is such a great set, we even gave you an extra 4 bucks off!
This excellent set only costs you $135.00. That saves you $18.00!
A note of thanks is due to this group for "another well done job" for you, the end users of this set. The effort they put out, for free, insure a selection of tools that you know was developed by your experienced peers.

Great pickset
Great quality. For single pin picking it´s probably all picks you´ll ever need. You can´t buy a Rolls Royce at the price of a Fiat. Here you´ll get top top quality and it´s worth every dollar. Thank you Ken for great workmanship. Thomas

Needs to be more durable.
I'm a noob when it comes to locksport, but word 'round the town is Peterson is one of the best and plus, I am a proud USA citizen so I prefer domestic made products, but with that being said I wish the metal of the picks would be more hardened. I've already somewhat bent the .25 (black handles) on a used lock, but I was being a bit rough. They are still nicely made, but a bit pricey. The leather case feels nice and genuine.
Per Ken, Thanks about the leather - of course it is genuine. Thanks for saying the picks were well made - that of course may be part of the reason they are not cheap you think?
And in closing; thanks for admitting you are new to the sport and admitting that you were being a "bit rough". Please note that if we made them harder they would be more brittle. Yoy could have broken them.... BUT as they are Gov Steel you can carefully bend them back into their original shape. Experienced pickers will tell you it is not a high force activity, instead it is a blend of tension and pick use. LIGHTEN UP! :-) -
Unsurpassed Quality - You get what you pay for.
I’m new to picking and did a lot of research on various brands and reviews from other people who were hobbyists and professionals. The brand that kept being mentioned and I saw people using in YouTube videos was Peterson.
Now that I have a set of my own, I understand why. Are they more expensive than other popular brands? Yes. But you know what, you get what you pay for. There is something to be said for a product that is made in the USA and exemplifies quality.
These picks are a treat to hold and use and I know they’ll last me for years to come.
Thank you Peterson for taking such pride in your work.
