This was our first offering of slender government steel picks to allow working within narrow key ways. Based on their thinness we kept them at a standard profile for strength. This set of Peterson's 0.015" picks contains 5 of our 7 popular profiles. Save money while adding to your arsenal. You will be surprised how strong they are! Note: Picks only - no case.
These picks are manufactured from 0.015 thick Government Steel and are then molded into a blue tone plastic handle. This is our very thinnest series of picks. They are useful for locks having very narrow key ways.
As they are somewhat thinner than the 0.018 picks, they are designed without the 0.018 series "Euro" shank reduction in order to maintain more strength while providing egress into very restrictive key ways.
Please note that as these picks are specially designed to provide access into narrow key ways where standard picks will not fit. This reduction in width comes at a logical cost in rigidity. Using these picks in wider key ways means you will lose the side to side lateral support for your pick that a narrow key way provides. If you are heavy handed you may find that these picks will try to flex sideways, or even bend under high pressure in locks with wide key ways.

Great stuff
The spenders are great for paracentric key ways and those tricky SFIC key ways but are not for the beginner as they are super thin and could bend and break easy, though I suspect not many beginners are buying petersons. Love the grips on all of the Peterson picks. They are a bit pricey compared to others but you really see it in the quality and finishing. Like any other pick they need a bit of sanding and polishing to be perfect but could be used out of the package with no issue as well. Love their stuff. Been wanting some since I first saw bosnianbill many years ago and bought others including a lot of sparrows and since I bought my first Peterson pick I have had a bit more money to spend and loved them so much I purchased almost every other pick they produce by now. I think I have everything with a plastic handle(including all of the .018 and .015 along with the standard .025) and several rubber handles ones as well. I hope the regular rubber is as good as the price projects, the high durometer stuff they got by accident was nice but about as firm as the plastic. I’m currently waiting for a regular rubber gem and if I like it like I think I’m going to I’m going to have to buy at least my everyday carry in rubber handles. Happy picking
