The Peterson Reach is a design Peterson created many years ago. It was designed to “reach” all of the pins in a Medico Biaxial lock. After correcting some design details I saw in an apparent knock off, the “Peterson Reach-HUN-NH” was created.
Some Reviewer Comments:
I’m currently using the 8S to attack the ASSA Twin 6000 with gin spools; it’s the best pick I have for that lock at the moment.
Locks Picked: Y1 Euro cylinder, GMS mortise cylinder with Y1 keyway, Kwikset mortise cylinder, Master 141, Master 150, Olympus 50 mm brass padlock, and Abus 71/40.
Impressions: I absolutely love this pick. I am looking forward to this pick being available with Peterson’s handle, and I will add it to my main picking set as soon as I can. It has a relatively thin shaft, which is something that is missing from Peterson’s current offerings. The gentle upward slope lets you use this pick as a short hook. The shape of the shaft lets you get quite a bit of leverage, so it can be used as a medium hook, too. Overall, this is a fantastic general-purpose pick.

The Peterson Reach is already a legendary shape. Why not get a little Gem flavor in there, too? I enjoy Peterson's half-diamond tips for their lifting feel and feedback, and this is no exception. Combined with the deep, high, slender profile, the "Hun" is particularly well-suited to manipulating pins that other picks just can't reach—with room to play. I'm very happy with it.
