ABOUT KNOCK-OFFS!

Beware!chinese-barret.jpg

This picture is of some design knock offs that are out there. Knock-off manufacturers have exactly copied my design profiles - which is illegal as my designs are registered as Copyrights and have also been registered as Trademarks.

Of course these examples having been made in China, have thicknesses are in MM instead inches. Too bad for the unfortunate buyers of these knock-offs; it appears to me that the strength of the shown "Brockhage Pry-bar tools" are measured in the "marshmallow scale," where the ones Peterson makes are measured high in the "Rockwell scale."

I viewed a video LockPickingLawyer did where he discussed his belief that his using inflexible turning tools have been the key to his lock picking success. With a couple of minor exceptions in some of my picking I agree with his position.

We at Peterson pride ourselves in the quality and strength of our steel! We pay a lot more for it, but our customers benefit from our selections.

FROM A CUSTOMER ON MAY 14, 2024

A thank you for creating my 2 favorite tools.

 H1-GSP and the PPB-LT-NT

I have bought picks and tension tools from Peterson, Covert Instruments, Sparrows,  Law Lock, Southord, and brands not even worth mentioning.

Just like Bosnian Bill, there is a small army of picks and tension tools in my work spaces. Of all the fancy picks and array of tension wrenches, there are 2 tools that stand out, and have done so for many years.

(partly the reason the standard pick in 25K stands out is my access to locks is mostly North American. Very few Euro locks around these parts. Some Medeco but no Gigi or the cool stuff LPL and Bosnian Bill have )

The H1-GSP has outlasted all other standard picks. ( slowly the pick is turning into a reverse bent diving board ) Time to order new.

Yes, there are other favorite picks, and numerous locks that the 25K H1-GSP cannot get into. It is still my favorite and am looking forward to the 18K picks I ordered.

The 40K top of tension tool is my absolute favorite tension tool because of it’s ability to hang on in paracentric keyways.

Specifically, the Peterson PPB-LT-NT top of keyway tension tool is the ONLY top of keyway tension tool that will hang on in the keyway of my WINKHAUS locks.

It may sound like the truth has been stretched here but this is not the case.

I can use many different bottom of keyway tension tools to work the lock but if I want to use TOK turners, the Peterson is the only one that holds.

 Thanks again,

 Lloyd
