The Pro1 tubular lock pick is a hands on picking tool. It is useful for standard (0.380 diameter) 7 pin locks (including 7 left and 7 right) and 8 pin locks. It also has tips for the standard 0.360 and .340 7 pin locks. It also has a specific tip for the tubular Abus Padlock.
A removable collar allows you to access locks with restricted access such as is found on some bicycle locks.
This Pro-1B is molded from high strength fiber filled nylon. The probe wires are also over-molded with this same excellent material. The carrying case is blow molded with a foam insert.
This product is sold with all of it's key-tips, for the same price which the original Pro-1 with all of it's tips cost years ago.
While there are always some special extremely high security locks with 9 or more pins, pin within a pin or staggered pin positions which it can not open, thankfully those locks are few and far between.
There are cheaper products available for specific locks, but if you purchased those individual picks for several of the above mentioned locks you would quickly pay more than the Pro-1 costs. I am also told that the Pro-1 works better.

The Peterson PRO-1 Tubular Lock Pick was my first ever tool. Many thanks to Leo Rick for challenging me to design a better pick for Tubular Locks. From this product everything else has sprung from. Attending trade shows with my initial vendor from Florida (thanks Steve Young) exposed me to the trade show venue. At one of these exhibitions Bill Timmann from NJ (thanks Bill) suggested to me that if I could make other items such as lock picks to the same quality as the Pro-1, I would have a great following as the standard quality of lock picks then was not all that good. My dear friend Don Dennis came to town from Tennessee to write an article about a well known safe company (Sargent & Greenleaf) and met with me as an "add on" interview as long as he was here. During our meeting we developed the beginnings of our friendship. At that meeting he suggested that I get involved with direct sales instead of just wholesale (Thanks Don). Now some 19 years later, Peterson has grown to where we are today; thanks to those friends, and many more.

Review of Pro-1 Series 2
This locking picking tool is a very precise and useable tool. I can't believe how easily it opens so many different tubular locks. I had questions about it and Ken reached out to me right away and answered all of them. I highly recommend this product. In case you were wondering, i have purchased many cheaper alternatives in the past and some worked ok and others did not. This tool far exceeded my expectations in every way. Great build quality.

Fabulous
I love my Peterson picks. I have been putting off purchasing one of these because it's pricey. Well, after tangling with a couple of tubular locks on some jobsites that I could not get picked with other methods, I decided to get one on the way. I absolutely love it! It is so easy to apply and adjust tension as well as feel what your pins are doing. As far as picking goes, this is great. Decoding is much more challenging, and they don't dispute that in the instructions. I found that it was easier to pick the lock with the Peterson, slightly rotate the lock so that the pins are out of alignment, and then come in with my HPC tubular "pick" and use it to read the pin positions. If you have to deal with opening tubular locks, this is worth the money.
